Just watched a video by Quint Kessenich from ESPN/Inside Lacrosse on six things to do over the summer to improve your game.
1. Running Intervals-everything from 110yards down to 10 yards. So a typical workout would be running a 40-50-60-70-80-90-100-110-100-90-80-70-60-50-40 yard interval workout. No coach has ever said that a player “was in [...]

No coach has ever said that a player “was in too good of shape.” Shuttle runs are also a recommended workout.
2. Get in a lifting program. Find one recommended by colleges like Cornell, North Carolina, Johns Hopkins, or any of the top tier programs. Life for speed not bulk or size.
3. Shooting. Get 30 to 40 balls and get a lot of reps in a row. Shoot on the move and stationary. Pick your favorite approach to the goal and do it over and over again.
4. Free Play or Pick up games. This was interesting because he said to do this more than specialized camps. You get more game like reps this way and your game will improve because of it. 2 on 2, 3 on 3 or a 4 on 3 or some variation is the way to go.
5. Wall drills. Everybody does this from the pros on down. It is recommended that you do at least a half hour to hour of wall drills every day. Practice with your right and left. Be sure to do drills with movement as well.
6. Finally, do some reading about lacrosse or success. Learn more from experts of the game. Quint recommended The Talent Code by Daniel Coyle. It’s on Amazon.com and is getting great reviews.
Good luck this summer improving your game.
